Despite the faults, From the Abyss is a solid dungeon crawler. It does what it does well for the genre, and it is very easy to pick up and play. In the long run however, it's not going to be memorable game.
Currently, it doesn't synergize well with any non-whip movement blessings, as you have to either stand still or crouch-walk to initiate it, which severely limits its usefulness. Even if you have Double Jump, the boost only occurs on the first jump.
This form of multiplayer also means that you can travel into the dangerous dungeons with friends and try to complete the runs with support rather than entirely alone.

You need to escape the temple, and the only way to do that is by completing Altec’s challenges and retrieving sacred idols Phantom Abyss Gameplay buried in the bowels of the temple. Completing his challenges also slowly but surely breaks the bastard’s chains, inching him closer to the freedom he desires but probably should not have.
Soul Armor's best use is as a panic button; if you find yourself overwhelmed with Guardians or traps, or are falling into a bottomless pit, activate your armor and get yourself to safety ASAP, because your invulnerability will not last very long. Your charges are limited, so don't just waste it on barreling through simple traps.

Of note is the fact that this blessing will prevent the Guardian from reaching its full power at the end of an Inferno run, though the one upgrade that you prevent is not particularly substantial.

Without the gimmick, game gets repetitive and boring really quick, it feels like you're incentivized not to play now but later instead to see other phantoms in the same temples as you are.
